„QUNDIS is a real model in terms of innovation and digitalisation“

Minister President Bodo Ramelow visits QUNDIS and plants a tree to combat climate change

Today QUNDIS, the leading producer of metering devices, welcomed Thuringia’s Minister President Bodo Ramelow to its company HQ in Erfurt. He was accompanied by Christoph Eggers, Head of Thuringia’s State Chancellery for Finance, Economic Affairs, Science and the Digital Society. The representatives of the state government exchanged ideas on the subject of Industry 4.0 and digitalisation with Dieter Berndt, Chairman of the Management Board at QUNDIS GmbH.

In the course of a tour of the smart factory at which the metering devices are produced Ramelow and Eggers were able to get to know an outstanding example of digitally networked production in eastern Germany. “It is impressive what QUNDIS has achieved in Erfurt since its company headquarter was located here three years ago. The company is a real model in terms of innovation and digitalisation. I’m confident that many more mid-sized companies in Thuringia will recognise the opportunities provided by networked production and risk the step towards digital transformation”, states Bodo Ramelow.

Following the tour of the smart factory and their discussion Bodo Ramelow and Dieter Berndt planted a tree on the company grounds together with a Plant-for-the-Planet climate ambassador. These trees symbolise the fight against climate change. “Our production and our products are entirely oriented toward sustainability. The primary goal is to avoid CO2 emissions and accordingly to counteract climate change. Our metering devices make the consumption of water and heating transparent, and therefore encourage consumers to save energy, which reduces the impact of CO2 on the climate”, states Dieter Berndt.

QUNDIS has since 2016 been supporting the Plant-for-the-Planet environmental initiative with information events as well as major and minor tree planting activities. Until year 2020 the initiative aims to combat climate change by training one million “ambassadors for climate justice” at 20,000 workshops worldwide and planting 1000 billion trees.
